How to use a tracing sheet well
The three guidelines do the teaching: tall letters touch the top line, small letters sit under the dashed midline, and everything rests on the solid baseline. The first row is darker to trace directly; the fainter rows encourage copying with less support each time.
Keep sessions short — five focused minutes is plenty at ages 3 to 6 — and start with the letters of the child's own name, which is why the name mode comes first.
