What a hundreds chart teaches
Moving one square right adds one; moving one square down adds ten — that simple structure is how children discover place value for themselves. Use the skip-counting highlights to make the 2s, 5s and 10s patterns jump out, then switch to the blank chart and have your learner rebuild rows from memory.
Games that work: cover ten numbers with coins and ask which are hidden; race to point at a called-out number; colour every multiple of 5 and describe the pattern.
